The 2027 horoscope on this page is a list of days you can check. NASA's Eclipses During 2027 page says: "In 2027, there are two solar eclipses and three lunar eclipses as follows." Those five dates come first. After them are three Mercury retrograde spans, written as calendar dates only.

Date (UT) Event Path, or a catalog time
February 6 Annular solar eclipse Chile, Argentina, Atlantic
February 20 Penumbral lunar eclipse Ends 01:13 UT on February 21
July 18 Penumbral lunar eclipse Penumbra from 15:57 to 16:09 UT
August 2 Total solar eclipse Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Somalia
August 17 Penumbral lunar eclipse Penumbra begins 05:24 UT
February 9 to March 3 Mercury retrograde Calendar dates only
June 10 to July 4 Mercury retrograde Calendar dates only
October 7 to October 28 Mercury retrograde Calendar dates only

If you need a day to put on a calendar, use this table, then read the August 2 path before you travel for the total eclipse. The year before this one is laid out on the 2026 astrology calendar. The 11-event download, five eclipses and six season times, is the 2027 astrology calendar.

What are the solar eclipses in 2027?

The 2027 solar eclipses are an annular eclipse on February 6 and a total eclipse on August 2. Times on Eclipses During 2027 are in Universal Time, and the August 2 entry lists "Greatest Eclipse (UT): 10:07".

February 6, 2027 August 2, 2027
Greatest eclipse (UT) 16:00 10:07
Type Annular Total
Central duration 7 minutes 51 seconds 6 minutes 23 seconds
Central path Chile, Argentina, Atlantic Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Somalia

The annular eclipse on February 6 has its greatest eclipse at 16:00 UT. NASA's solar eclipse decade table puts the annular path, in brackets, through Chile, Argentina, and the Atlantic. The wider region where a partial eclipse can be seen is listed as South America, Antarctica, and western and southern Africa. Being in that wider region is not the same as standing on the annular path.

The total solar eclipse on August 2 has its greatest eclipse at 10:07 UT, and the central duration listed for that instant is 6 minutes 23 seconds. The same decade table puts the path of totality through Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia. Its partial-eclipse region is Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and western and southern Asia. The August 12, 2026 eclipse is a different date and a different path, covered on the total solar eclipse of August 2026.

What are the lunar eclipses in 2027?

The 2027 lunar eclipses are three penumbral eclipses: February 20, July 18, and August 17. None of the three is listed as a total or partial umbral eclipse.

July 18 stays in the catalog, and it is not a lunar eclipse to go out and watch. Eclipses During 2027 lists "Penumbral Eclipse Begins: 15:57 UT" for that date, and the penumbral eclipse ends at 16:09 UT. From 15:57 to 16:09 is 12 minutes. The penumbral magnitude on that entry is 0.0014.

February 20 is the deepest of the three penumbral eclipses on Eclipses During 2027. Greatest eclipse is 23:13 UT, the penumbra begins at 21:12 UT, and it ends at 01:13 UT, which is already February 21 in Universal Time. That 01:13 UT ending is still February 20 in US time zones. The umbral magnitude is negative, so the Moon does not enter the umbra.

August 17 has its greatest eclipse at 07:14 UT on that same catalog. The penumbra begins at 05:24 UT and ends at 09:03 UT. At 05:24 UT it is 1:24 a.m. Eastern time on August 17, and 10:24 p.m. Pacific time on August 16. The umbral magnitude is negative on this entry as well.

When is Mercury retrograde in 2027?

Mercury retrograde 2027, on this page, is three calendar spans: February 9 to March 3, June 10 to July 4, and October 7 to October 28. Check those calendar dates on the NatalChart.AI retrograde list and the Astro-Seek retrograde calendar. Minutes and degrees stay off this list. The Mercury retrograde 2026 page is the previous year, with its own dates, and it is not a source for these three spans.

Treat the spans as days on a calendar. Astrology reads Mercury retrograde as a traditional pause for review. The astronomy is the apparent slowdown, not a promise that travel, contracts, or conversations will fail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the July 18, 2027 lunar eclipse one to go out and see?

The July 18 eclipse stays in the catalog, and its penumbral phase runs from 15:57 to 16:09 UT, 12 minutes.

Where is the August 2, 2027 total solar eclipse total?

The total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027 has its greatest eclipse at 10:07 UT. The central path in NASA's decade table runs through Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia. The same table gives a central duration of 6 minutes 23 seconds. A partial eclipse is listed for a wider region, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and western and southern Asia, which is not the same thing as standing in the path of totality. For a different year and a different path, use the August 2026 eclipse page linked above.

How many eclipses are there in 2027?

Five. Two are solar, on February 6 and August 2, and three are penumbral lunar eclipses, on February 20, July 18, and August 17.

Eclipse dates and times follow NASA's catalog in Universal Time. Mercury retrograde is limited here to three calendar spans. Western astrology can be read as a tradition beside those dates. It is not a guarantee of what will happen in a life, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
